Sapphire Martini with a Twist, Please

Martinis are verrrrry important.

The best description ever, of how to (and how not to) make a martini:

The Dullard Gazette: August 2004

"If you are the sort of fop who worries about "bruising the gin" by over-vigorous shaking, please post in the comments section to explain what that actually means, and I will personally come to your house and rassle you, one-on-one, three pins takes it."

Kerry to be interviewed on Daily Show

Yet another find by my colleague from the South.

"All of us [on 'The Daily Show'] are just blown away by the turn the campaign has taken," Karlin said. "We cannot believe that this is what is being talked about at this juncture. It's so astounding to us. We are trying to work through our amazement and to conduct a meaningful conversation absent of incredulity, because [the interview] is not going to go anywhere if you just say, 'What the fuck is going on?' "

A must read

This whole "swift boat verterans" attack on Kerry just makes me sick. It makes me angry. And it makes me feel so sorry for the majority of Americans that get their news from mainstream media, which Republicans manipulate so well.

I am also extremely disappointed in McCain, every Democrat's favorite Republican, for continuing to strongly support Bush despite Bush's refusal to come out against the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" (sic) (sick).

So anyway, a good article about it here that rightly points out the differences between the soft money on the right and the soft money on the left.

As pointed out my my esteemed colleague, Kerry is starting to finally counter-attack.

"Of course, the President keeps telling people he would never question my service to our country. Instead, he watches as a Republican-funded attack group does just that. Well, if he wants to have a debate about our service in Vietnam, here is my answer: “Bring it on.” "

Smart guy currently in the lead

Kerry 327, Bush 211

More reasons to vote for the smart guy

American Prospect Online:

"Three years of watching Bush makes the point: Intelligence matters more than character."

Two more arguments to vote for someone smart

Two great articles:

Bush's Two Albatrosses (Free registration required)

"Just before the new numbers came out, the president was bragging to campaign audiences, "When it comes to creating jobs for America's workers, we've turned the corner, and we're not turning back." Democrats are making that phrase as famous -- or infamous -- as the "Mission Accomplished" sign on the aircraft carrier Bush visited in a premature celebration of the end of major fighting in Iraq. "

and

Rumsfeld & Bush on 9/11

"How is it that civilians in a hijacked plane were able to communicate with their loved ones, grasp a totally new kind of enemy and weaponry and act to defend the nation's Capitol, yet the president had "communication problems" on Air Force One and the nation's defense chief didn't know what was going on until the horror was all over? New Green Day and new Lisa Loeb

Green Day's American Idiot

...and hottie Lisa Loeb has a new one... The Way it Really Is. Check out "I Control the Sun".

Stay has to be one of the best pop songs ever, but I have been disappointed with her albums overall. She seems to need a good writing partner/collaborator... or something.

Kerry Wins the Pennant! Kerry Wins the Pennant! Kerry Wins the Pennant!

Or at least, right now, he is predicted to win the electoral vote.

A really cool graph from that same site shows the predicted electoral vote over time.

I don't know much about polling, but Zogby seems to be pretty good at it. And as long as they predict that Kerry will win, I will maintain that they are good at it.

Song of the Day

From Franz Ferdinand, Jacqueline, the first song on their new self-titled album.

"That's why we only work when we need the money."

Vacation needed badly.
