iPod Personality Test

I've been making judgments about people based on their music likes and dislikes since I was 15.

I knew I would like my randomly-assigned college roommate the instant I flipped through his first 20 LPs.

In the digital age, it's all about what's on your iPod.

John Schwartz agrees in the New York Times.

Of course, the simplest personality test of them all: Who's your favorite Beatle?

Big Changes for your TiVo

The headline "TiVo Will No Longer Skip Past Advertisers" scared the hell out of me. I thought it would be the end of TiVo enjoyment.

But it's just your typical bad, misleading, editorial headline. It's not as bad as I thought but still a bit of a bummer. You are going to get static images of ads as you fast forward through commercials on your TiVo, something Mark Cuban recommended they do in October. Man, they wrote that software fast!

The first horrible thing TiVo has done to us! But knowing them, they will do it right. Advertisers (with TiVos' help) are finally coming up with creative ways to get to consumers in the TiVo era. It was inevitable... a bit sad still, but worth it if TiVo is successful, and they still keep a good balance of giving both advertisers and consumers what they want.

TiVo has the ability to make TV watching interactive in ways the web cannot even come close yet. I am sure we will see more from that great company.

Republicans to push Hate Legislation

According to Karl Rove on Fox News, the Bush administration will pursue an amendment to the Constitution to keep gay men and women from obtaining equal rights in the United States. They accuse those who believe in equal rights of being "activist judges" and somehow the people who want this divisive change to our country are becoming known as "values voters."

The party of Watergate, Iran-Contragate, fiscal irresponsibility, and sending soldiers to their death and dismemberment for no reason should not be associated with American Values. Especially as they try to push us back to the pre-historic age by legislating discrimination.

They are trying to frame this as if it is the people's will -- because of the slim majority that Bush stole the election with, they are moving forward with divisive policies. Have they forgotten about the will of 56 million people?

Meanwhile, they are using it to bury the fact that they are still fucking up in Iraq and in the economy.

Not Red/Blue -- We are Purple States

Some great maps that show more accurately how divided the country really is.

Dowd: We are Fucked

A scary, must read from New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.

"The president got re-elected by dividing the country along fault lines of fear, intolerance, ignorance and religious rule. He doesn't want to heal rifts; he wants to bring any riffraff who disagree to heel."

Blue counties... I still love you. Come visit anytime.

"It made Disneyland look like speed-walking..."

"... Some waited 6 hours. To cast one vote." A great story from Talking Points Memo about voters in Florida. And I can vouch from experience... it's frickin hot down there.

Amazing early numbers from Florida and other swing states.
"In Florida, 30% of registered voters said they already had cast their ballots, using early voting sites and absentee ballots. They supported Kerry 51%-43%. "

misfit blog Endorses Kerry, Predicts Big Win

America needs to get back on track. People need to feel proud to be an American again. The US needs a smart President that can win the war on terror and make us feel safe again.

John Kerry is that man. Kerry is not just "NOT Bush". He's a smart leader that can solve problems. He cares about the average American, and he can bring the US back to good standing in the world.

And anyway... what the frick are people thinking? What is ANYONE thinking when they vote for Bush? What is Curt Schilling thinking?

Bush has messed up the economy, he' s messed up the war on terror, and he's messed up the United States. And he and his veep Cheney make like the economy is great, the war in Iraq was a great success, and the US is just fine. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

The misfit blog proudly endorses a great man, John Kerry, for President of the United States.

Furthermore, the misfit blog predicts a BIG win for Kerry, 355-183. Hell, let's call it a landslide.

"This Republican administration has done an amazing job of making me realize how much I love America.... by making me realize how much I miss it." -- Frank San Filippo (of the Dullard Gazette)
